Sea States : : the exhibition
Katia Mokeyeva and Fiona Duthie
Timeless Textiles, Newcastle, Australia
March 16th - April 10th  2016
Fiona Duthie  and Katia Mokeyeva  both live and create near the ocean, but in very different coastal environments. A clear artistic narrative developed out of this geographic relationship; one that explores this common relationship with the sea, and its states of being.  The term sea states refers to the overall condition of a large body of water—with respect to wind, swell and current—at a particular moment and location. Each sea state offers a beautiful metaphor for our own personal, overall condition, and an excellent platform for exploration in surface design through feltmaking.
